CHOREOGRAPHING FOR THE SPRING
If you are interested in choreographing for Spring 2004 there are some basics you should be aware of.

To choreograph, you must have been a full member of MCLA DC for one semester. This applies for both choreographers if you plan to co-choreograph.

There are A LOT of people in Dance Company this year and it might help to take numbers into consideration. The minimum # of dancers is a piece is 4, but with such a large company it would be better if choreographers would take a few more, not more than they are comfortable with though.

Our Bylaws have a 14 Piece limit per show, but E-Board does not have to accept all proposals. As of last count, there were 18- 20 possible pieces for this semester.

It is imperative that you try to make EVERY company meeting, you are the Captain of your Dance, and have to act responsible- you have an obligation to Company and your dancers.

Proposals will be due to Melissa Gumlaw #6611 or Elizabeth Zepp #6679 On Thursday, January 21st, with NO exceptions. Proposal forms will be available to download online and wil be handed out at the Informational meeting. Please come to the Informational meeting if you are interested in choreographing

We will notify all choreographers of their proposal status by Saurday night so you can be prepared to present your pieces for Company sign-ups on Sunday.

E-BOARD MEETINGS
As like last year, members of MCLA Dance Company are welcome to attend E-Board meetings so long as it is not an executive session. Meetings for Fall 2003 at held on Mondays at 11:00am to 12:00noon in the Greenroom in Venable Hall. Please feel free to come to bring up issues or just to see what is going on.
Minutes will be found on our minutes page posted within 10 days after each E-Board Meeting. Access to an download-formated archive of all Minutes will be kept on that page as well. Please read over the minutes before each company meeting.

MOVIE NIGHTS
A proposal is going to E-Board to Sponser Movie nights for Members of Dance Company. These would be held on fridays or Saturdays, every few weeks hopefully in Sullivan Lounge.
It would be similar to our traditional End of Semester meetings, no dancing, just friends, fun, refreshments, and Movies! The movies would of course be dance-involved, and this would not be a mandatory activity, just something fun for us to do together. Please feel free to Contact Eboard with any comments about it through our contacts page.
Once we have made a decision, It will be posted and we will let you know during our Meetings!
